Scottsdale, AZ

A quick weekend jaunt to Scottsdale, AZ, brought many an opportunity for visiting family and sightseeing. The landscapes in this area of the country are certainly striking.

Sedona, north of Scottsdale

Off to the Botanical Gardens with a fantastic variety of cactus, many which were blooming.

A quick run through the Butterfly Exhibit.

Toured the Frank Lloyd Wright’s home, lab, and now foundation headquarters,  Taliesin West.

Then a Pink Jeep Tour of the Sedona Hills. And yes, the jeeps are really pink! Who knew this area of the country was so stunning? Not me.

And the craziest thing of all,  the Sedona “White Line.”  Mountain bikers ride the line. No safety lines, nothing. Watch a sample video from YouTube here. Insane.

    Hi Rachel –
So happy to see you are traveling again. My nephew has lived in Scottsdale, AZ for years. I had the pleasure of visiting the Sedona area a few years back. It’s gorgeous country. I hope you are able to venture through Oak Creek Canyon out of Sedona. This is another area a beauty you can capture on your camera. You should be professionally paid for your camera ART! Stunning pictures – always! I miss you – Joyce

    1. Hi Joyce! Great to hear from you. We had a great time in Sedona but missed Oak Creek Canyon. I looked at some photos online, and it looks spectacular! So I’ll have add it to the list for next time as it’s possible we’ll visit again.

Hope all is well with you yours (Grandma…I’m so jealous). And thanks for the kind words about the photos. I sure love doing it!

      Miss you too!!

WOW are those lenses sharp! Great color and love the double butterfly image. Great to see you back at the blog. Hope to talk soon.

    1. Thanks! And yes, they’re sharp. Very pleased with the new Sony 24-70. It’s a beast and just as big as Canon’s, but love how sharp it is. Let’s get together after finals!
